Custom decks and outdoor living, built for Auburn.

Design-build since 2006 · north in the valley

Where we work

Auburn splits between the valley floor and the newer neighborhoods up on Lea Hill and Lakeland Hills, where a lot of homes came with a big, flat, unfinished backyard and not much else.

That blank slate is an opportunity. On newer Auburn lots we start with how you want to use the space, then build the deck, the patio, the cooking and fire areas, and the planting as one plan, so you are not stitching together three contractors over three summers.

Decks are where a lot of these projects start, and they are what we do best: composite and thermally modified wood, multi-level, built to handle Puget Sound weather and last. From there we add the outdoor kitchen, the fire feature, and the lighting that makes the space usable after dark and later into the year.

We build along the south King and Pierce County line and have since 2006.

Is it a fit?

Built for a real project, not a quick fix.

Most of our Auburn projects start around $25,000 and land north of $50,000: full outdoor rooms with the design, hardscape, planting, and lighting handled together.

If you are after weekly mowing or a quick one-off fix, you are probably not looking for our full design-build service. But if you are ready to turn the yard into the best room in the house, that is exactly what we build.

005 — How it actually goes

What the build looks like
from your side.

Most of our buyers have been burned before — by a quick-quote contractor, a vague estimate, a crew that vanished. Here's what to expect, step by step.

  1. I.

    The first meeting

Chris or Cameron shows up. It's not a sales pitch — it's both sides deciding whether the fit is right. Bring your questions. We'll bring ours. If it's a fit, we keep going. If not, you've lost nothing.

  2. II.

    See it before the shovel

Your conceptual landscape design is a real plan — materials, layout, planting, lighting, and a clear cost estimate — worked out at the kitchen table before the first day of work. No lowball quotes that balloon later. You see the project, then decide.

  3. III.

Real numbers, walked through line by line

No off-the-hip estimates. We sit with you and explain what each line item buys and where the cost comes from. From there the work runs on time and materials — you pay for the actual hours on your property and the actual materials used, never a guess that balloons later. It's the fairest model for both sides.

  4. IV.

    Same crew, every week

The same crew builds your project start to finish. Same names on site through the whole build. Changes aren't arguments — they're conversations, talked through and approved before anyone swings a tool.

  5. V.

We don't disappear at the end

Walkthrough, punch-out, follow-up. Many projects roll naturally into a maintenance contract because the team you've worked with for weeks is the same team you'll see next spring. Most of our clients come back for a second or third project.

Common questions

Auburn outdoor living, answered.

We just bought a newer home with an empty backyard. Where do you start?

With how you want to live outside. On a blank Auburn lot we design the whole space first (deck, patio, cooking and fire, planting, lighting), then build it as one project so it comes together as a finished yard rather than a slab you add to for years.

What does an Auburn outdoor living project usually cost?

Most start around $25,000 and average $50,000 or more, depending on scope. We build full outdoor rooms, so the number reflects a finished space rather than a single element.

Do you build multi-level and view decks?

Yes. Decks are a core part of what we do, built in composite and thermally modified wood, single or multi-level, and engineered for the grade and the weather so they last.

Do you handle permits and HOA design review?

Yes. We manage the permitting a project needs and work within the HOA and design-review rules common to Lakeland Hills and other newer Auburn communities.

Are you local to Auburn?

We work the south King and Pierce County line from our Tacoma shop and have built in this corridor since 2006.
